Scenarios

"Greetings students. Welcome to the Fleet Combat Simulator (FCS). The FCS is an integral part of your instructional program here at the Starfire Command War College. The FCS will be used to place you in various positions of command within simulated fleets of warships. You will be expected to apply the lessons from your tactical courses, and to formulate new tactics as the situations require. Your decisions will determine whether your fleet is victorious or defeated."

"In the FCS you will meet the Royal Hellenic Navy, the Tarantula Cluster Space Force, and the Horde of Him. The Royal Hellenic Navy and the Tarantula Cluster Space Force are mythical inveterate enemies which have been at war since the FCS was founded. The Horde of Him is an enemy to both the Hellenics and the Tarantulans, with a fanatical desire to destroy all other races. Each race has its own personality, likes, and dislikes. You will be required to learn to handle all of the forces created."

•	Royal Hellenic Navy (RHN)
	The RHN usually employs smaller ships, typically one or two hull sizes below the maximum which they are able to build, backed by a few of the larger hull sizes. They generally mount missiles only on the largest ships. They prefer to use beam and kinetic weapons at close range as their primary weapons. The RHN is also known for placing a strong emphasis on crew training, to maximize the capabilities of each of their ships. RC: 90    RM: 85    RD: 83    RO: 86
•	Tarantula Cluster Space Force (TCSF)
	The TCSF believes that bigger is better for warships. They like to construct the largest possible warships, relying on strong defenses to protect them from smaller and faster ships. The TCSF also prefers missile weapons, tending to mount them on all possible ships. Beam weapons are generally a backup on larger vessels, although smaller ships will carry them as their main weapons. Kinetic weaponry is not unknown to them, but is rarely used. •	Horde of Him (HOH)
	The HOH employs a mix of large and small ships. Their larger ships are typically armed with long range missiles, which are used to cover the smaller ships as they rush in to close quarters with an enemy. The HOH does not seem to consider the life of the individual as of any particular importance, and will employ ramming tactics if the need arises. While clearly possessing the ability to produce large numbers of ships, the HOH is often technologically behind the RHN and TCSF. RC: 100    RM: 100    RD: 85    RO: 95

The Id number for a scenario indicates the primary Economic / Tech Level of the participating fleets (ex. "FCS-03" would be a scenario involving primarily Tech Level 3 forces).

No guarantee is made regarding the design logic of the forces involved in the scenarios. Each race designs ships according to its own general logic, but the ships may not be optimally designed or arranged.
