The Real Story.
G. Wampus Pinchépinkie, Captain Garulian Naval Militia (Retired) is my character in an Alternity game run by Ken Buchs. He was created along the lines of the stereotypical senior British military officer (such as the Major General in Pirates of Penzance). In general life he is a bit "out of it," being somewhat oblivious to the workings of the daily world around him. When it comes to military matters and high adventure, he is pretty competent, knowledgeable, and effective.
When preparing the write ups on the MMoids, I needed a fictitious author. It had to be someone whose name sounded a bit pompous and overblown. Since the Campaign Master for the Starfire game was the same as for the Alternity game, somehow G. Wampus just came to mind. Since then he has taken on a completely new identity in the Starfire universe.
A special thanks is also due to Rob Gray, for the suggestions that led to the original name.
Oh -- and the name is pronounced "pin - chee - pink - ee", NOT "pinchie - pinkie"!!!!
