The following summary of the pre-expansion history of the MMoids has been prepared at the request of the Interplanetary Xenobiological Society. For a more complete discussion of this subject refer to the author's soon to be available three volume work, The Definitive History of the Holy MMoid Empire (published by Shyster, Shylock, and Simpleton of Havensburgh, New New York). For ease of use, all MMoid Standard dates have been converted from the base nine MMoid dating system to base ten. Equivalent Terran Standard dates are also included where appropriate.

~400,000 BU - Earliest known traces of proto-MMoids, based on use of fire and simple tools.
~9,000 BU - Earliest identifiable traces of MMoid societies living as long term organized groups. This is treated as the beginning of MMoid civilization.
~7,000 BU - Last known time a MMoid with the ability to modify shell color based on surrounding color is known to have existed.
~1,000 BU (±400) - End of the warrior Queens. Queen Councils become the "power behind the thrones" across the world.
~400-100 BU - Artist/Technician MMoid type emerges. At first treated as an undesirable mutation, this type slowly found a place in the emerging industrial society.
255 BU - First modern style assembly line created. This eventually led to the beginning of the industrial age, although steam power would not be invented for over another one hundred years.
73-56 BU - Emergence of the Great High Over Queens. Each of the planet's five continents (North, South, Eastern Equatorial, Western Equatorial, and Green) is consolidated under a Great High Over Queen. On Earth these would have been known as superpowers. Two lesser powers (Great High Queens) emerge controlling the Central Oceans (a collection of large islands spread over the world's largest ocean), and the South Polar Islands (an archipelago similar to Earth's Indonesia in size). No lesser Queens remain independent of these seven rulers.
46 BU - Last sighting of a large carnivore in the wild anywhere on MMoidHolm.
19 BU - The Great War for Unification begins. The then newly crowned Great High Over Queen of the North continent, rejects an ultimatum from the allied Great High Over Queens of the Western and Eastern Equatorial continents. Expecting this reaction, the allied Queens have prepared a surprise attack which destroys a significant portion of the North Queen's naval assets while in harbor.
17 BU - The massive M-Day invasion of the North continent is defeated by a carefully laid trap. Over a period of only thirty days the allied powers suffer the loss of almost two million warriors and approximately twenty percent of their combined fleets. They also lose the momentum. The war is stalemated.
13 BU - After a series of diversionary actions, North forces successfully land on the Western Equatorial continent. Utilizing the new concept of High Speed Mobile Warfare, the North forces paralyze the defenders, and capture the continent's largest industrial center. Within a year, all but guerrilla activities have been eliminated from the continent.

10 BU - The invasion of the Eastern Equatorial continent begins. Within days, the Great High Over Queens of the Green and Southern continents, along with the Great High Queens of the Central Ocean and the South Polar Islands go to war with the self declared Prime Queen.
7 BU - Eastern Equatorial continent forces use nuclear weapons for the first time in history. Although present in most military inventories for well over twenty years, they are used now in desperation. Massive retaliatory strikes by the Prime Queen end the nuclear exchange with over 30 million casualties in a three day period. Nuclear weapons will never again be used by MMoids on their own planet.
6 BU - The Eastern Equatorial continent is completely conquered.
5 BU - The Prime Queen orders the two Great High Over Queens and two Great High Queens to surrender. The Great High Over Queen of the Green continent and the Great High Queen of the Central Ocean agree. War continues.
1 BU - The last independent forces are destroyed, and all Queens agree to be dominated by the Prime Queen. The war is over.

1 PU (1753 AD) - The Prime Queen declares herself the absolute ruler of all of MMoidHolm. All of the MMoid race is now part of her Prime Queendom.
5-19 PU - Massive legal and cultural upheavals occur, as the Prime Queen begins to restructure parts of MMoid society to prevent rebellion.
38 PU - Following the successful disarmament of all but a few highly loyal sub-Queens, the Prime Queen creates the Holy MMoid Imperial Army (HMIA) as the first "Special Society."
40 PU - The Holy MMoid Imperial Navy (HMIN) is formed as the second, and last, Special Society.
42 PU - The recording of yearly dates is officially revised. The year of the Prime Queen's elevation is declared to be Year 1 (one). All years before this year are to be counted backward and labeled as BU (Before Unification). All subsequent years are to labeled as PU (Post Unification).
142 PU - All but minor variances are finally removed from the MMoid language, allowing all MMoids to communicate with each other.
188 PU - First "manned" rocket lands on MMoidHolm's moon. During the next one hundred years, a general investigation of the solar system will be conducted, mostly by robot explorers.
217 PU - Establishment of the first permanent colony on MMoidHolm's moon.
219 PU (1971 AD) - First Queendom not on MMoidHolm is created. Additional colonies, and Queendoms follow on other planets, moons, and asteroids.
298 PU (2050 AD) - The Prime Queen declares that the MMoid race has almost reached its limits in its home solar system. Outer space will be the new frontier. The Navy is put in charge of all non-colony space affairs.
306 PU (2058 AD) - An unexpected breakthrough in propulsion systems is achieved. The first reactionless drive is successfully tested. The Navy is instructed to begin plans to explore and colonize other star systems.
