Starfire and Imperial Starfire are science fiction games of combat and stellar conquest. Imperial Starfire provides exhaustively detailed rules for running interstellar economies in a campaign game. Players build fleets, explore star systems, colonize planets, and engage in great wars of defense or conquest. Starfire allows the playing of individual engagements between squadrons and fleets as they occur in Imperial Starfire.
This section of the web site presents my thoughts on Starfire and Imperial Starfire, plus the activities of the Holy MMoid Empire; a race of lovable, yet practical and hard shelled people who cherish peace almost as much as they love dominating other, inferior races.

Special Note
The observant reader will note that I do not have nearly as many negative comments about Starfire and Imperial Starfire as I do about many other games. This is not an accident; nor just laziness on my part. Unlike most games I have encountered, Starfire is rather well thought out. The authors have done a generally adequate job about keeping the rules consistent, following most logical pathways in the rules to completion, and holding the game to the general requirements of the real universe. The authors also are clearly active in updating the game, and in correcting problems and errors as they are found. While there are still numerous problems with the game, they are fewer than any other game system I have seen, and compliments are definitely due to the authors.
