Indiana Escadrille Squadron History - Squadron Cup 2008

The Indiana Escadrille entered two flights in the Squadron Cup 2008, designated Flight 1 and Flight 2. Both Flights made it through the Qualifications. Flight 2 was eliminated in the second round. Indiana Escadrille Flight 1 made it to the Final round, but lost, thus coming in second in the Squadron Cup 2008.

Indiana Escadrille Flight 1

Opponent:   91a Squadriglia Flight 1 (2.44, 3rd), Lost Shakespearo Squadron Flight 1 (1.61 12th), Won Flying Tigers Flight 1 (1.41, 18th), Won Result:   Win: 2, Loss: 1, Draw: 0, Kills For: 6, Kills Against: 3 Note:   Although technically in a three-way tie for first place with its Win-Loss record, the Flight had the best Kills For verses Kills Against record, and so was advanced to the next round.   Second Round:   Format:   Single game, single elimination. Opponent:   Indiana Escadrille Flight 2 (0.72, 32nd) Result:   Won (On Board: 1-1, Kills: 2-1), Advanced to Quarter-Final round.   Third Round:   Format:   Single game, single elimination - Quarter-Final. Opponent:   91a Squadriglia Flight 3 (1.88, 10th) Result:   Won (On Board: 3-0, Kills: 2-0), Advanced to Semi-Final round.   Fourth Round:   Format:   Single game, single elimination - Semi-Final. Opponent:   Black Sheep Flight 1 (1.26, 25th) Result:   Won (On Board: 1-0, Kills: 3-2), Advanced to Final round.   Fifth Round:   Format:   Single game, single elimination - Final. Opponent:   Black Eagle Flight 1 (2.47, 2nd) Result:   Lost (Onboard 0-3, Kills 0-2), Second place in the tournament.

Flight 2

Pilots:   Carynus, TigerTank, GwensDad2003, FlamingMeatStix K/D Ratio:   0.72 Original Ranking:   32nd (of 32) Qualification Group:   H Note:   FlamingMeatStix was added to the flight after the Qualification Round to replace TigerTank.   Qualification Round:   Format:   Four flights each fighting all of the other flights. Opponent:   Flying Tigers Flight 3 (2.06, 6th), Loss Hissing Cats Flight 2 (1.46, 16th)), Won Escadrille Les Brasseurs (1.39, 19th), Loss Result:   Win: 1, Loss: 2, Draw: 0, Kills For: 3, Kills Against: 3 Note:   Although technically in a three-way tie for second place with its Win-Loss record, the Flight had the best Kills For verses Kills Against record, and so was advanced to the next round.   Second Round:   Format:   Single game, single elimination. Opponent:   Indiana Escadrille Flight 1 (1.23, 26th) Result:   Lost (On Board: 1-1, Kills: 2-1), Eliminated from tournament. Note:   Indiana Escadrille Flight 1 felt that this was its toughest fight in the tournament.
