The 9th Century Campaign was a very confused and, fortunately, short lived campaign, the primary purpose of which appears, in retrospect, to have been to allow the Secondary Campaign Master to play a Diedne magus. It is included here solely to provide a complete record of the Ars Magica activity.
The campaign did not begin on a high note. At a Tribunal in Germany, a group of new magi met in an unused room. Each was desperate to get away from his or her master. At the Campaign Master's instruction, each magus was required to steal something valuable from their master, and then meet in the stables. A hard ride followed, in which the group supposedly went all the way to Rumania in about three days. At the end of the ride, deep in the mountains, the party came across an ancient temple carved out of the side of the mountain. Knowing the Campaign Master wanted the magi to establish a covenant in this temple, the magi began to explore it. Problems soon developed, the most notable of which was that there was no source of food near the temple (a village later miraculously appeared about a mile away).
After a few muddled adventures, the party found itself utterly confused by an illogical scenario and in a game where the game system rules simply did not seem to apply. Fortunately for the players, the Campaign Masters chose this time to pull one of their regular "disappearing acts", and not run the campaign for a few months. The campaign was never restarted.
It seems that no one else kept any of their character or game information. So, only the following three items appear to have survived.
